A Pool Painted Black: The Hidden, the Forbidden, and the Forgotten
- A Solo Exhibition
What has been buried? What desires lie under our skin? What does it mean to find answers when we don’t yet know what questions to ask? What is the boundary between what we reveal and what we hide? A Pool Painted Black uses oil painting, mixed media, and butter sculpture to reimagine and explore the often hidden yearnings for sensuality and self-identities through a multidimensional lens. Expressive and bold canvases celebrate intimacy and the beauty of curves under the gaze. Liu’s works linger around the dark hidden space as we are grasping for clarity and answers, whether it is sexuality, lust, body image, taboo desires, or self-perception.
